To add or customize screening questions, go to the DrOwl website and click on the check-in tool button in the menu at the top of the site.
This will take you to the log in page. When that page comes up, click on the “Facility or School Administrators” button on the bottom right-hand side of the page to log into the administrative account for your organization.
When you are logged in you will see your menu options on the left hand side of the DrOwl check-in homepage. To customize your screening questions, go to the menu on the left-hand side, and choose “question settings”.
You will then see a list of the standard questions to help get you started in keeping your community safer. The goal of these questions is to screen for symptoms and history of COVID-19 exposure.
To add a new question:
- Click on the yellow “+Add New Question” button.
- Choose the type of question that you would like to add, and click on the green submit button when you are done.
It’s important to note that some of the question types are informational only, while others are questions that can change whether or not employees and visitors are allowed into your facility.
Here are the steps for the different types of questions that you can add:
- To add “yes or no” questions, select that type of question, and:
- Type in your question.
- Choose whether this question will allow/deny entry into your facility by clicking the box to the left of the “does this effect entry” question.
- Select whether a “yes” or “no” answer will allow them into your facility.
- Then click on the green “submit” button to finish.
At the bottom of the page, you can update the message that your visitors see when they check-in, and the entry can be either allowed because they’ve successfully checked-in, or denied because of their answer(s) to specific question(s).
Click on the box to the right of the “send an email when an entry is denied” if you would like to be sent an email when visitors are denied entry to your facility based on their response to a question.
When you are done editing the entry messages, click on the green update button to finish updating them.
- To add “multiple choice question with a single answer”, select that type of question, and:

- Add in your answer “choices” for them to choose from. If you would like to add more than two to the form, click on the blue “+” sign to add more answer choices.
